Bob Hall Pier is an excellent place to enjoy a day’s fishing, have a great meal or just take in the fresh sea air.

First built in the 1950’s, Bob Hall Pier (named after a Nueces County commissioner) was a 500 feet long wooden pier. Hurricane Carla destroyed the first Bob Hall Pier in 1961 and, subsequently a new pier was built, twice the original size. Hurricane Allen saw the destruction of this pier which was the largest fishing pier down the whole Texas coast. After Hurricane Allen, a lesson was learnt and the current 1,240 feet long concrete pier we see today was built in 1982/3. It cost around $1.3million and has no joints or bolts and is slotted together like a jigsaw puzzle. It has been tested against further storms so no need to worry about another demolition!
